We need to stand up and speak up for what is right. We need the Holy Spirit to empower us as witnesses of Jesus in a world where a small segment of society, which has been given the megaphone of the media, will try to shout us down. When we come out of an upper room experience after a powerful Sunday morning worship service, we need to go out speaking the wonderful works of God. We need to take it to the streets without fear or intimidation because we have not been given “a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Beware! But Be Glad (Pentecost Sunday)
We are covenant people, not because of the externals, but because God, through the Holy Spirit, transforms our hearts and draws us into a powerful relationship with Himself that lights a fire in us that makes us a light to the world; a city on a hill that cannot be hidden; and salt with savor as living witnesses of Jesus our Savior.
Resurrection Sunday: I’m Getting Up
The good news of Resurrection Sunday is that regardless of how low we feel, or how down we get, God is able to pick us up when we’re ready to look up and cry out to Him. But it will require us to lay aside every weight and the sin that doth so easily beset us. It means that we have to call out to Jesus and be ready and willing to repent.
