<![CDATA[ Today I want to continue to explore the topic of the church. Three weeks ago I spoke about the fact that Jesus is the One Who is building the church.. He said, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). Two weeks ago, I spoke about the fact that love is the glue that holds the church together. Jesus said, "By this will all know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). Today, continuing on the theme of the church, I want to explore the metaphor of the church as the "bride of Christ." This is a powerful symbol that depicts who we are as the church. Also, when we look at first century Jewish marriage arrangements and weddings, it will help us understand where are now as the church and what we are anticipating. ]]>
