<![CDATA[ I want you to notice that even in the Ten Commandments the importance of parenting and of fatherhood is prominent. On the one hand the warning is given to the fathers to lead moral lives lest they create a cycle of sin that will be passed from one generation to the next. And on the other hand, children are commanded to honor their father and mother. So, we see that the issue of fatherhood is addressed from both ends of the spectrum, both from the perspective of the father and from the perspective of the child. But I want to focus on verse 5, the second sentence, "For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me."]]>
